Report on National Mathematics Day Celebration
Date : 22nd December 2023
Venue : Department of Computer Science
On 22nd December 2023, the Computer Science
Department at Indraprastha New Arts, Commerce, and Science College celebrated National
Mathematics Day, in honor of the birth anniversary of the great Indian
mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan. The event was organized to highlight
the significance of mathematics in various fields, particularly in computer
science, and to inspire students with Ramanujan's extraordinary contributions.
The celebration began with a welcome speech by Vikram
Neval sir, who emphasized the relevance of mathematics in modern computing
and problem-solving. He also discussed how Ramanujan's legacy continues to influence
mathematical research and education today. Following this, Dr. Patel ma'am
and Bharti ma'am shared their insights on the interdisciplinary
applications of mathematics in computer science and data analytics.
The event featured several engaging activities,
including:
- Mathematics
quiz
competitions among students.
- A
presentation on the life and achievements of Srinivasa Ramanujan.
- Group
discussions on the role of mathematical models in computer algorithms and
software development.
Faculty members and students from various departments
attended the event, contributing to its success. The interactive sessions
fostered a deeper appreciation of mathematics and its applications in everyday
technology.
Attendees:
- Vikram
Neval sir
- Dr.
Patel ma'am
- Bharti
ma'am
- Faculty
members and students from the Department of Computer Science and other
departments.
The celebration ended with a vote of thanks,
recognizing the invaluable contributions of mathematics to scientific and
technological advancements. The event not only commemorated Ramanujan’s genius
but also inspired students to explore mathematical concepts more deeply in
their academic journey.
